1200r dies on water in XLL

I need some help, as my ski dies without warning after running perfectly.

    Has cat delete.

I'll be riding and while running any speed it'll just die. Then it acts like it's hydra-locked and won't crank for a few minutes. Will then crank and start.

    Anyone seen this?

It is possible that a piston is expanding and seizeing in one of your cylinders (for many different reasons) when you are riding and the cylinders are heating up. When it cools down, the pistons shrink back, and you can crank it back up.

Run a compression test on each cylinder to find out which is giving you grief. On a stock boat, you should see about 115 to 125psig in each cylinder, but the important point is that the cylinder pressures on all three are within about 10psig of each other.

If you find that one of the cylinders are bad, then pull the head off and take a peek what kind of damage you have so that we can help you figure out what to do. Pictures work well here.

The advice from Salty is spot on. Sounds like a partial seizure. Nice to see he took some time to answer your question fully.

I'll check it out. Ran perfectly till I ran into dirty carbs (fuel pumps ). Just rebuilt the them and this started. Pto plug is soot black where the other two are a nice golden brown. Need to get home to get some of the tools I need.
