Miami to Bimini on Sea Doo - Mission Complete (video)

Made the crossing last weekend on four Sea Doos (RXT 215, RXP-X, 2 150 Speedsters). I started planning this trip almost 3 years ago and it still surpassed my expectations. Got the idea after watching videos from the originals (AdamGroch & TheBarrones).

We left out of the boat ramp in Coconut Grove and started toward Bimini. About 15 miles off the shore of Miami disaster struck and the RXP-X died on us. An hour long repair ensued while floating in 2,000 ft deep water. A phone call to Brett at Jet Trendz, helped us diagnose the problem and get riding again. So, special thanks to Brett and his shop. Aside from the mid journey break down, the actual ride over was amazing and took us a little less than 1.5 hrs.

The ride back was fairly brutal. I think the jet boats had a much more difficult time than we did on the jet skis. The RXP-X rider also had a bit of an accident on the way back, and lost some teeth. He'll being undergoing dental surgery for the next year or so...

Anyway, enjoy the video. Best watched in 720P HD....

a few of my friends and i are going to plan that trip for next year. i heard leaving early in the morning is the best time to go since the water is almost like glass. were you able to make it on one tank of fuel?

You'll definitely want to leave early in the morning. As long as the winds are light, it's an absolutely beautiful ride. We took extra fuel just in case, but we had no trouble making it there on a single tank. During a recent river trip I went 85+ miles on the RXT 215 and did plenty of WOT runs. Came in on fumes, but I figure I'd have no problem getting 100 miles out of single tank if I kept the throttle steady between 5500-6500 RPMs.
