converting to pre-mix at rebuild question

Do I leave the crankcase bone dry at initial startup from a rebuild when using pre-mix? I would think this would be a bad idea. Do you put a little "starter oil" in the case?

i'd just put a coat of oil over everything, don't start pouring oil into the crank case. Or you could just shoot some areas with wd40 or even better fogging oil
