    splitting cases

    got a 2001 1200 and trying to get the cases apart with out breaking something.
    any ideas the silcone has them glued together?? used rubber mallets no luck
    the manuals said to tap on the case tried that no luck, I am trying to leave the top end together just need to put in new pto seals,

    you have to remove the cylinder base nuts as the studs go all the way through

    ya the cly base nuts need to be takeing off and the 6 bolts and the 2 bolts at the seal , the cases need to split to take the cases apart to change the seal but you will need to clean and prep the case 1/2's for new case sealent , which is almost damn near a new rebuild
