Looking at 785 for second ski

Hey guys, looking at a 99 785 pro for a second machine. Just wondering what kind of speed these will do in stock form. I'm looking to get something that's good to play on and I know these halls are fun. Donald

Oh yeah, how does it compare to the SLX 1200?

They'll do 63 MPH in stock form.

Not the best play ski. The hull is not the same as a SL. You will NOT be able to donuts on a 785.

They are a bit thirsty on the gas VS. other skis.

It will out accelerate the SLX 1200, and out manuever it. But it will consume much more fuel, and not allow the playfull feel of the SL hull. It was made for buoy racing, and does that quite well.

So these halls stay hooked up? Would it be hard to knock a passenger off? How would it compare to my 03 GPR 1300. I don't find it very playful at all

The hull will not slide/wash out at all. If you turn it, it will take the turn, YOU may not.....

Knock a passanger off? Like candy from a baby. Actually a good tight turn, and YOU"LL come off.

Never rode a GPR, so I can't say.

the gpr is a dam aircraft carrier compared to the 785 ..i will get flamed for this but i hate the ride/feel of the gpr next to the pro
if you can get 2 people on the pro - a fast wobble of the bars and your pass. will be doing cartwheels next to you...............

So what about parts, problems? Are parts hard to get? Do they still have stator issues? Anything else? It sounds like it will do what I want it to. I miss the g-force turns I used to be able to do on my sl900. And I agree about the GPRs. Great sailing machine, but no fun to play on.

parts are still out there and easy to get ,the 785 never really had a stator issue but if one fails you can use any 94 and up 750/780 stator and flywheel or get it redone at Jetskisolutions

So when you going to pick it up? Do you have any pics of the ski?
