Which Synthetic Oil to use?
I have a 2000 Kawasaki Ultra 150 JH1200A.
- It has a number of mods.
- The prior/original owner advised me to use 93% octane gasoline and High Performance Synthetic Oil
Am I using the right oil?
Should I be using Amsoil "hp Injector Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil" instead?
Is anyone out there using either of these? How do they work for you?

I tried the Amsoil Interceptor oil and fried the engine in my ultra 3X in 10 hrs
Switched to Amsoil Dominator and no issues in 40 hrs. No other change but the oil.
I ran the Kawasaki oil for the first 70 hrs and had no issues, switched to the Interceptor cause everyone said it was "So GOOD", and it blew 3x in 10 hrs.
Interceptor cost me 3 rebuilds, very expensive lesson learned.

Sorry to hear Splish. You may have just saved me 1-more rebuild.

I only use the kawi oil. I figure that is what kawi intended on using when they built the machine.

Yea, but the used machine I bought -- the owner told me to use H.P. Synthetic Oil because of all the mods he did. It is no longer a stock-like machine.

I am running aftermarket carbs, dominator 3 exhaust, cut stock heads, carbon tech reeds, and factory pipe cdi. I have not had any problems. I think it is a matter of preference when it comes to the oil. Just make sure you dont mix different types. If you do it sometimes can gel up and cause even more problems. Just make sure what you run is tcw-3 type.

I am going to switch from "AMSOIL INTERCEPTORô Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil" to "hp Injector Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil" as I rebuild my cylinder #2 and piston.
I have a 90% full oil reservoir with the Interceptor. I also can see a small pool of Interceptor oil in the bottom of my cylinder casing.
I changed the oil lines last night and primed them with Injector oil. What is the best way to get rid of the existing Interceptor in the system and cut over to the Injector without doing any damage to my machine once I start riding again?
