    Carnage from Tear-Down

Just pulled apart my 2001 GP1200R and here's a pic of the piston... little wrecked.

How do I check the crank to see if it is out of whack??

I obviously have to pull everything to get every-bit of metal out of the bottom.

Looks like you may need a new piston or two

I really want to do this rebuild myself, however I don't want the engine to blow up again after a few hours.

I plan on putting in new pistons, rings, clips and rebuilding the carbs.

What else should I be doing / checking???

How do I check the crank and connecting rods to see if they are off?
