I, along with alot of others here on the Site have these: http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/sps-m600/ and they Dropped right in the Factory Location, and Fit just as good as the Factory Speakers, but Sound 100x better.

They can be had VERY Cheap on Ebay.

When you look at the back of your stock speakers, do they give an indication of their size? The 4-Tech sportsters use standard 6.5", so I don't see why an '03 wouldn't. You know, the fiberglass is really easy to cut and work with (with proper eye and mouth protection); you should be able to get the 6.5's to fit with little trouble. I had to drill new holes for my replacement Polk MOMO 6.5s, and I've done extensive cutting for a new radio insert, subwoofer, etc.

I cut my speaker holes bigger, the Pyle speaker I used have a heavier larger grill that didn't fit tight against the hull so I used a peice of white weather stripping on the back of the speaker to fill the small gap

The problem that I found is that you can't have a speaker over 7" in diameter or its to big for the area that it mounts. anything over 7" will stick up over the top edge of the fiberglass . Some of the 6.5 diameter speakers that I found are around 8" in overall diameter (way to big). Hope this makes sense ........

I don't know about '03, but '04 and up can hold a 7.5" diameter speaker. These Polk MOMO MMC650 speakers are just barely over 6.5", so there's almost a half inch to spare all around. The cone itself is a bit over 5.5".

I had the Polk db651's in last year. They sounded great and were suppose to be marine certified. Well one still works this year. Got some new Kicker 6200's for this year in the mail today. Can't wait to hear them installed. B.T.W., Kicker also makes the KM6130's which are 6" speakers and not 6.5". They are OEM marine speakers as well. JR.com has them for $32 each. http://www.jr.com/kicker/pe/KIC_09KM6130/ They look like the Polks I had.
