Idea for new speedo for FZ

Could anyone come up with a speedo for the FZR/S that would pick up off GPS. Maybe a digital gauge that would fit in place of the factory speedo. That would be cool. Also a digital replacement for the factory tach would be cool. Why Yamaha thought we needed analog gauges is beyond me. This is 2010.

The motec is neat but pricey like stated above. The Livorsi digital gauge would be great if it will work out. I will do some checking.

Don't like just mounting a GPS somewhere? That would be the easiest/most cost-effective.

My speedo pickup is epoxied-over. I just GPS'd the ski and (try to) remember the RPM's for the 10 MPH lake I go through. Other than that, I personally don't use the speedo.

I like that. It looks like the gauge opening for this product has to be 3 3/8", and since the "opening" for the stock speedo starts at about 4"+ and then tapers down I'm wondering if I can remove the stock speedo and put the GPS speedo in its place, or have it custom fit....? I'm not sure about the antennae/receiver though, it appears it has to be attached on a flat surface to be able to read all satellites.
    Has anyone tried this?
