is the sl780 and the sl900 the same hull?

I want to get a seat from an sl900 (I like the design a little better) to put on my sl780. Are they the same hull?

    Thanks,
    Jared

Great that's all I needed to hear!

Zigler says that it doesn't really fit good on his 780 shell... why do you suppose? Perhaps the screws just need a little adjusting for the new seat is all..

    Thanks,
    Jared

The latch might be different? I take it you like the hump seat look right? Just use the foam and cover from the SL900 seat on your seat shell. That's what I did on my SL750 back in the day. I actually went 1 step further and put a Hydro-Turf seat cover on it. No slip material on top and the vinyl on the sides. You can get creative with the colors. http://www.hydroturf.com . Just make sure to use a 900 seat cover when ordering and not the SL780 which is flat.

Well since Hydro-Turf was only 45 minutes from me, I went there to pick up my seat cover and have them staple it on. You can do it yourself but make sure to get stainless steel staples. You can also take it to an upholstery shop and they can staple it for a small fee. It is contoured and fits well so it is pretty easy to install.

It's a huge pain in the ass! I hated every minute of it! and ss staples are friggin high $$ the cover barley fit! I had to use vise grips a heat gun and tie wire to strech the biatch in to place! Z

HT installed mine for free because I was there. I have done Kawi 650SX tray side pads, hood pads and handlepole chin pads before and it was fairly easy. I never did the seat since HT did it. I can't imagine it being that hard but I'll have to reserve comment since I never actually did one.
