    hi,

has anyone wrapped the exhaust system in some sort of insulator to stop the heat build up in the engine bay? could this be beneficial?

    thanks ian

I heat wrapped back in 2008 when I installed the Riva Exhaust to reduce heat in the hull.

Also, wrapped the intake and I/C.

i thought about doing that to keep the heat inside the pipe. sorta like have a ceramic coated pipe. but if you use header insulation, how would it react if it got wet?

I think exist exhaust water cooler ,get rid out of most heat
    no need to warp anything,
I read tmp from exhaust and engine ,
    engine temp so much higher.

the whole exhaust is water cooled. you would probably be better off messing with the water flow, if anything.

There certainly IS a need to wrap the pipes. I am talking the pipe from the waterbox to outlet only. As Addicted stated the manifold has water going through it anyway which gets rid of some of the heat only. The pipe from the water box to outlet gets hot enough to burn you and take the paint off the pipe. Why would you not want to reduce heat in the hull in any way possible?!

Wrap the intercooler to reduce heat from the hull impacting the IC.
Wrap the Intake pipe to reduce additional heating of air.

Wrapping the IC and Intake may provide minimal results, but I thought we looked for everything little thing we could. Or, was I wrong? It seemed to work pretty well for me when everyone was asking how I ran that fast with the limited parts we had in 2008-2009.

I did a little search for exhaust header wrap. There are a LOT of choices, and some that I suspect that will do well for our purpose. And guys, there is wrap made for boat headers....lol
