    Can it be the carbs......again!

When I first got it about 8 months ago I had the carbs rebuilt for doing the same thing its doing now.

It's hard to get it to start, when it does it wont go past 3000 rpms without bogging and turning off. I ran it slowly for about 15 minutes and the same thing happened. At the end it did not even want to turn on, I guess the battery died a bit and it would not even crank.

Suggestions? Questions? Is it easy to take 'em out?

Anyone?.....Can a car mechanic rebuild these carbs? Are they any different from a car's carburator?

My guess would be the internal filters are plugged. Pull the carbs and check them. It's fairly straightforward.

Just curious, but are you still running the CAT? How many hours?

you can deffinately rebuild them yourself- spend $175 on 3 rebuild kits and some new gaskets vs. $700 to the dealer!

If the kits are only 8 months old, I would just tear them down, clean and reassemble. At least that's what i would do first. If it turns out to be the internal filters are plugged, replace or clean the entire fuel system so that it doesn't happen again.

Thanks for the info guys. I talked to Tim Judge and I will wait for him to come back from California and take it to him. I really am not good at this stuff so I would rather take it to him and if I can watch a bit of the procedure.

This is a completely stock machine. What can I have him do to it while the carbs are out? Any cheap mod?
