    4-Tec motor replacement options?

I keep browsing the seadoo fs for motor parts to replace the damaged parts from my '04 sc.

I have a couple of questions:

Can you use any year block (n/a 155- sc 215)?

Are there major differences in the heads (same motors)?

I know nothing, so any reply is helpful.

One forum member is nice enough to have a whole motor for me in a few months when he does a motor swap, but I want to know if the one I have can be rebuilt without becoming a Franknstien motor.

    Thanks

    Joe

Not sure why people keep posting in the the MoTec section about other stuff.

MoTec = Motor Tech. Yes??? Then my question would be a technical question.

If I am wrong, then please be more a little more complete in your posting by letting me know where you think I should have posted it.

    Thanks,

    Joe

Well the mods moved it for you. I just was trying to figure why so many started posted in the MoTec section and you answered, why. Thanks. Not trying to be a dick.

Like Joe said MoTec is a standalone ECU system. MoTec doesn't = Motor Tech, not here anyway.

I'm on a learning curve. Thanks. I didn't even notice the thread had been moved until a min ago. Saves not reporting. Thanks.

I don't have any reason to be a dick. Besides, I was just wanting to ask a couple of questions. And who wants to help a jerk!

i know the 215 has forged pistons and the 155 and 185 dont. there are some internal differences between different year motors but i believe they are still interchangeable

best bet is to go on ebay and find a complete motor to swap in. Trying to piece meal one of these 4 tecs together is tough for those that know them well. Its mission impossible for a beginner.
