Install/Remove Impeller Shaft Bearing
I placed the shaft in the freezer and the bearing in 150 degree heat and it slid on all but the last centimeter. Would not go any further. Tore up the bearing removing it, so off goes another 60 bucks.
Any tips for installing/removing these bearings?

I'm in the same situation. Ended up having someone else do it that has a press.

SB able to use the impeller to push the bearing the rest of the way in. You might need to use some spacers. Of course a press is the best method. Regretfully you are half way to the cost of a cheap press at HF with your 2nd bearing.

Reading this makes me glad I took my pump in and paid the mechanic to press the old one off and new one in as well as replace my wear ring while it was apart...

Going to just get a press at HF this weekend. Overdue and I have many other things I can use a small press for. I bet the press cost less than one visit to the shop.
