    More Problems

Finally got my ski back and out on the water yesterday. Rode for about 20 min everything sounded and felt good. Got well over 70 out of it. All of a sudden i hit the throttle and only get about 4800 rpms then it shuts off and wont start. No codes and it wont turn over. Tries to crank but wont even crank all the way over. Thought maybe everything came off charger again but it wont spin so i guess its good. Just put the 08 kit in it also. Any thoughts?

Bearings in the charger could've went. Or your pump bearings. Have you tried to spin the engine without the pump on? I don't recommend trying to start the ski (by cranking it with the starter) until you find the problem. Do it by hand.

    What year is the ski?

And when you pull your plugs it will be very obvious if there is a problem.(like the bottom of your plug all messed up)

Next pull the valvecover off. Check the timing chain.

Pulled the pump and its fine. Pulled the valve cover timing chain is fine. Tried to turn over motor by driveshaft and it wont budge. Pulled the pto cover off and everything looks fine. Pulled the screen out of the pto cover and found copper flakes! Not sure where they are from but im guessing its my problem. Where did they come from? What next?

Only thing I can think copper flakes would come from is the stator. How do the flywheel bolts look. Since you have the PTO cover off take a look at the stator and see if anything was hitting it.
