    08 rxtx taking on water ... is this damage?

    Where the rubber boot attaches to the haul the fiber glass sinks down .. is this normal?

    most likely its your carbon Seal has gone. Search carbon seal. good luck.

    The fiberglass in the picture is normal, just as stated above most likely the carbon seal.

    I would also check 2 other areas for leaks:
    VTS rubber gasket/plastic nut and sponson bolts.
