4-Tec motor build. Need some input from members.

So I've sourced a 2005 rxp block, and I have a 2006 130 hp gti head in the mail. Since my motor that blew was a 2003 hp sc motor, will I have to put my old cam and valve springs in the new head. Also, is there any difference in cyl bore between the '05 & '03?

    Thanks

    Joe

i know the 130, 155 and 185 engines dont have forged pistons so if the 03 is a 185 then i wouldnt use them in a 215 motor

Joe, First off go online and look up the Cam part numbers to see if they interchange. Second buy a manual.
Your 03 has cast pistons and will be ok in the 05 block if your going back with all your 03 185 stuff.

I did buy a manual on cd from an ebay member. I wasnt sure if the cams were the same. I hadn't thought of looking in the manual I bought. And yeas, I'm putting all of my 03 parts back in. My GPR is my hot rod, I just need the GTX to be family and friend friendly = running.

It shows the gti N/A cam to be different. I would not use the gti cam.

Thanks. I figured a supercharged motor would have longer lobes for more air in and out.

Could have sworn someone had a nice assembly thread with pictures. I'm too lazy to look it up tho.
