I have a 04 rxp, bone stock the most I can get is 7650 rpms, now my buddie bought a 05 rxp stock ( gotta one up me) that machine is hitting 8000-8100, and is doing 6+ mph then mine. I want to figure this out so were on an even playing field before we start getting more competetive and doing mod work to them

They should run the same. Something is wrong with your ski.

Your question is about as vague as my answer. Dude. You are going to have to go thru your ski. Could be SCer, internal engine problem, jet pump, fuel pump, spark plugs, coils, injectors. I just don't know how anyone could tell you where to start. We all would be just be F'ing guessing. Don't get mad. Your buddy has a ski you can take parts off, 04 and 05 interchange parts.

You need to make sure you have the pigtail harness since it's an 04. If you don't know you can search here.

Good place to start, if you never have seen the rpms over 7600-7650.

not getting mad, that list that you just said was what I was looking for. I did make the mistake of buying a brand new straight stock SCer, but it is brand new, its got new plugs also. il check the coils and try to elimanate things off that list. untill i fix the problem. I do appericiate the information though, thank you

You should be seeing 8000-8100rpms. There was a problem with the knock sensor and this pigtail is the fix with a ecu update. If the ski was at a dealer and plugged into the BUDS system it would get a update and if you don't have the pigtail harness you will only turn 7600rpms.
