2007 RXT. Is 7800-7900 rpm ok.

Hey guys. Haven't posted in a while, but need some help. Since I have owned my ski I have never seen 8000 RPM. Cool water or warm. When I say cool I mean 75 degrees at the coldest. I'm in South Florida. The only mods I have are in my signature. Is this still ok for an RXT or is something wrong. Would changing my wear ring possibly help. I have never changed it. I have 47 hours on the ski.

I dunno how much your ring is affecting you...but i'd deffinately up your air intake.

How do you like your skegs?

    Do you have a gps?

I would think with the mods you have, that you would turn 8000, BUT with my stock 2007 RXT, except when the water and air were cool, I never saw 8000. Usually the same RPM as you saw. GPS speed was in the 63 range and that was even when it was colder (75 air/73 water) IOW, 7800, or 8000 I saw the same speed from the ski. Best speed ever was 67 in November when the water was in the 50's, and so was the air. I think RPM stayed a steady 8000 or a bit more than.

I have a 4 inch intake. Do you think I ned more? I love the skegs. I noticed a big handling difference with them. I epoxied them on and haven't had a problem. The fastest it has been is 67 mph. normally 65.5 to 66.

I did the washers and have shimmed them since changing them the first day I had the ski. I checked the slip number with Jerry back when I did it and he said it was ok.
