    What's the rideplate made of?

When you plug the rideplate holes and sand down the epoxy, you obviously take some of the finish of the rideplate down too. Just curious...(as I've already done the work)...what kind of metal/material did I just expose to the salt water I always ride in? Lets hope I don't have to paint over it....

    thanks,
    sean

    Aluminum.

You dont want to paint it as it wont transfer heat.

I belive that it is anodized or some similar treatment to give some corrosion protection.
