    Question GPR1300 Must haves ???

Ok guys, I have been searching now for what seems like forever. I am trying to compile a list of "must haves" for when, which I hope is soon, get a 06 or 07 GPR1300

I see all kinds of things listed and I try to read up on each. The purpose of my thread here is to compile a list so I can search for these items specifically. I am not asking for anyone to "tell me" what and how, just "what" and I will search for the "how". So no worries about telling me to use the search button, ok.
Example: Use Jims rideplate. I may ask later what model for my style of riding, that is if I don't find the answer on my own.

Some questions I can't find answers too.
Is an 06 any differant than an 07? Reason for these years is I must have Black/Gold model, and this is the only 2 years of that correct?

If they are the same, ok, if not, which year would be better?

I hope to find out as much as I can on the "must haves" and start to collect these items.....even before I find the right ski.

    Thanks in advace.

    Jer

    hey jerome!
    tunnel reinforcement
    intake grate
    IR holeshot mod
    Jim`s or IR`s ride plate.
    earlier GPR metal trim tabs

if you want a bit more accel, and the speed that willl come from being able to turn a more efficient prop, cut the OEM head... you will be using premium fuel after that...

that should get you started...good luck!...and welcome to the GPR world!...

    Thanks Andy!

Maybe I should list what I am looking for as far as performance also.

Faster than stock, but don't need 80MPH.... yet. 75 is ok for now. lol
    Handling, safe and predictable.
Reliabilty, don't mind working on it, just don't want to before and after every ride.
HP increase, yes. Heads and over the winter, porting for 93 pump.
Will be used in smooth water with maybe up to a 1 foot chop.

    Thanks again

hi Jerome, how did that lead I sent you on that 06 from that guy up in Albany turn out?

it`s going to take quite a bit to get to 75, more like porting, and total hull set-up... if you really want to ride, like in rec riding and having a quick accelerating ski with low 70, 72mph, that`s easily obtainable...

    Hi Dave,

I was chasing another lead for one at a steal of a price and never did follow up. It totaly slipped my mind. Sorry, you went and helped me and I dropped the ball.

I never did get the 'steal" as it sold quick.... went for $4500 and it was as mint as mint can be.

75 was just a number I thru out there.

Porting, yes. Just a rec port job though. Hull work, well maybe. I am not sure if I am able to start modding the hull. Swapping parts, adjusting, and sealing things up is one thing I can handle. Hull mods I just don't feel safe attempting.

Maybe later if I get to hang and ride with some of you guys, I can learn enough to maybe attempt it.

Andy's right, you can build some strong accel and improve the holeshot dramatically
but without porting with a repitch prop you'll looking at the low 70s, still sweet though ,BUT I do have something up my sleeve for next wk............

those are hull mods> ride plate, grate, sponsons (stepping), I don`t think I would true the hull unless you were counting every tenth of a mile...lol...
