Ipod touch gps app
Does anyone know of an app for the ipod touch that can record top speed?

There is one in the App Store called SPEEDIEi that we have been playing around with on our new iPhone 4's; I compared it to my $1,000 Garmin on some water tests last week and it appears very accurate. I'm not sure it will work anywhere outdoors on the iTouch though; wouldn't you need a data plan/connection for that?

You will NOT be able to do it with an iPod! There is no GPS chip in the iPod's. Only the iPhone and iPad 3G have the GPS chips in them. The iPod can only use "proximity" using Wi-Fi for "location".
YoYamma, we wrote a free app for the iPhone called "Max Speed". I would love it if you could compare it to your GPS and give some feedback!

Just a follow up on the free app called "Max Speed." I compared it to my vehicle speedo and also my $1,000 Garmin on some water tests last week and it appears very accurate. Thanks again.
