Intercooler leak alarm??
Has anyone ever designed or bought some kind of a sensor that would trigger an alarm if an intercooler began to leak? I just got a Gen 1 and I have been researching it. I have read bits about it may leak water into the intake... I was thinking about some how getting a sensor hooked a buzzer/ light or something... i dunno.. any thoughts?

RIVA GEN1 I/C? Is it brand new? The used ones I have seen are clogged or leaking or both. Maybe you will be lucky and have a good one.

I much prefer the XS ICs ... I had a Riva gen1 plug up badly on me, causing overheat alarms.
On the leak indicator, I have given that some thought in the past. The only simple idea that I came up with was drilling and tapping a 1/4" NPT hole in the lowest part of the TB side tank of the IC ... install a brass fitting and attach a clear hose that is securely plugged at the end, then just do a visual inspection of the hose before/after you ride. If you see water in the hose, you know your IC is leaking.

nope i bought it used but it was leak tested.. i also dont plan on riding in salt water so im sure that will help.

use a internet search engine to find a water detector sensor and you should be able to rig something up

does the intake get moisture in it though... would that not set something like that off?
