Boil, Attack of the Skin Infection

So, I got my first boil and it is a beast. Everyone I have spoke to has a different cure. I have been alternating hot and cold pads and took Epsom Salt and made a slurry and apply that for 15 minutes once a day. Has anyone had success with anything else. Every where I have read says to do the home remedies for 2 weeks and if it doesn't clear up go to the doctor. I am half way there. Oh, it's on my shoulder.

No, but just started draining some. They say if you pop it before it is ready you can spread the staph virus.

Go to the drug store and talk to a pharmacist. They sell some stuff, behind the counter, that is a black ointment. I do not remember the name, but it is something like Ithaca, or something like that. They should be able to tell you.
You put this stuff on it, but a bandage on it, and it will be all but gone in 2-3 days.

I'll try that. I think this is what you are talking about.

That is nasty looking. I had a red lump come up on my back last year, my doctor called it a sebaceous cyst. Had to have it lanced and drained twice, most painful thing I have felt in a long time. He did heal it though.

No, he is talking about the cream I posted. I google searched "boil ointment black" and came to a site the people list home remedies on. The black salve is highly talked about. A lot of people use vinegar and fatty bacon. Some swear by Boil Ease (bought some today but haven't used it yet) and Epsom Salt along with some crazier stuff.

My freind just had a cyst removed from his back. I always told him that it was his twin brother, Quasimodo. He said they drained about a cup of goo out of it then had to cut the cyst sac out. He said it kinda looked like a spider web.
