It never even occurred to me the fix might come from Yamaha. If the fix is bulletproof, there's going to be a lot of unhappy aftermarket companies that were working on implementing a fix.

while this upgrade sprag will improve sprag clutch life it may NOT be the answer to sprag clutch failures with these big 14-20 psi S/C wheels, Thats where the aftermarket companys will be concentrating on I am sure. Tommy Jordan

Don't get your hopes up. I saw their fix and to tell you the truth it was a joke!
The fix I saw they sent out a couple of weeks ago and all it had was a larger diameter bearing that fit a bit tighter.

The fix is not going to come from Yamaha for the modified guys!

Jerry knows of someone with a fix coming as do I.
We have not spoken about it but I am pretty sure his person and mine are two separate people.

Maybe Yamaha had two or three fixes they sent out and which ever worked is what they used??
If it ends up what I said I know for a fact it will not work, trust me!

Yamaha is coming out with a new sprag pretty soon that will be better then whats in there now.

There is also an aftermarket one coming out soon that will hold up to the big chargers in CC conditions but we are finding other week links that must be addressed as well.

I'll let you know all I can when I can.

Good info Tommy and thanks for sharing. Personally, I don't need a clutch that can hold super big boost. I'll be perfectly happy if the Yamaha upgrade will hold the boost of a 13-14 pound boost wheel. I'm stoked.

Couldn't agree more. I think that the fact yamaha is steping up to the plate is impressive.

+1. This sounds like Yamaha must be replacing a lot under warranty.

I would like to hear from people that know (Duke ) what the other problems are after the sprag is fixed.
