most guys just siphon out the oil as much as they can, remove or plug up the main oil line, then "trick" the float by zip tieing on the up or full position, why you need more storage space.?

if you remove the tank you have to cross the straps for the gas tank so they are tight on the tank.

most premixers drain the tank, cap it, and then pull the floats out and ziptie underneath them so they stay up.

if you dont it will just beep and say low oil and stuff.

there is some way to solder some connector somewhere to make it not worry about the oil level, so id look around for that so you can remove the floats and stuff.

    Oil level Meter Sensor

The sensor is resistance based. I soldered a 100ohm resistor across the oil input to the meter and it reckons the tank is full

That would work although I wouldn't touch or nwrap it - do it properly and solder with some shrink wrap to protect it and keep it away from the elements.

I personally don't like cutting connectors off makes reversing it a little difficult. Your call though...

yes, i recently went premix as well, left the tank, while the motor was out, i let the drain/feed line drain into a small pan, and removed the oil and pinched the line, and ziptied it shut and tucked it away. i never pulled the sending unit, i followed the wire up to the top where it plugs into the boats harness and peeled back 1/2 inch of insulator on each wire, twisted them together making a continuous circuit, wrapped with some electrical tape, and no light.. ever. plugged it back into the harness and done deal. no tiewrap in the oily sender.. keep my hands clean.
