Long Island Sound waves on Thursday
On Thursday my brother and I rode from Old Lyme and went around Shelter Island. The ride out was smooth but on the way back the winds picked up and it was a battle. That led to a great day though...
During the afternoon the winds came up out of the southwest and were strong. I started jumping waves (yes, in LIS...) and as I was in the waves trough some of the crests were eye level for me. I am 5'6" and while standing on my ski I estimated some were over 5'. This happened just off shore of Point O' Woods beach. In all, an excellent day and the best seas I have seen on a clear sunny day in LIS. Was anyone else on the Sound with the same seas?

Was out with 6 other skis yesterday in the Sound right in Old Lyme ... SOme very nice wave jumping, despite them being a little close together. The mouth of the CT River was even better with the boats coming in and leaving. Even with a passenger, some nice air. Lost a pair of sunglasses in the Sound when a wave came over the ski!
I have never seen the LIS that good/rough.
Just too many jellyfish!
