Fried a 2nd voltage regulator... what's up???
1996 SeaDoo GTI. Has ran great until a few weeks ago. It started cutting out above 40 mph. Compression is good so I didn't suspect anything mechanical. Replaced the voltage regulator (VR) with one bought from Atlantice Jet Sports and problem was solved... at least for a weekend ride. Had it out on the river yesterday and it started doing it again!
99% positive it is the VR again. Will verify next time by unplugging the red wire on the VR. What might be causing this to fry? The battery is a brand new Odyssey. Surges from the coil that the VR can't handle? Or could the MPEM be doing this to it?
