    sl750 jugs on sl650?

    Hello,
I've been reading that sl650 and sl750 have same crank case, I've even checked and found they have same exhaust manifold too. Just makes me wonder if I could just sl750 jugs/piston on sl650, change out the impeller and voila sl650 is now sl750?
    Any ideas, comment?
    Thanks,

Basiclly yes, have to rejet to the 750 specs, and the intake maybe differant. Someone will verify that. Also the fittng in the exhaust has a different opening, not a big deal.

    Thanks for the input Ked!
I've looked and they use same carbs too, different jetting of course so intake should be i mean should be the same.
Already have Ocean Pro F/A on it, adding rejet to the list really isn't that much. Looks like I'm all set to go :>
Now .... if I could find some 750 jugs cheap .... lol

    Long story short, yes.

I have a nice set of 750 cyls and heads listed on Ebay right now. Will just need the pistons and rings for them to work.

Rejet the carbs and install a 750 impeller.

You can also install a 750 flywheel and stator for a little more timing advance, but I doubt you'll even notice a difference between the 650 and 750 elec parts.

Reality sets in ... I think I'll just stick with 650 and spend resource on maintaining it. It's for my wife and she never gets it beyond 30 mph anyway
Any, thanks xlint89 and could you give a link to your store for future reference?

LOL, Xlint's store, He's just selling all the extra parts he's collected over the years of trying to go fast.
Warning to you: These things can be addictive, just ask any of us.

    That is funny....

No store, just an overstuffed basement full of boxes with parts like Danno said.

Dang! But he probably does not have anything for the puny 650 anyway
Thanks for the warning! But I think I just joined the club Not trying to go fast but could not resist the deal, instead of getting a piston for mine, I picked whole Fuji sl650 with one blown piston up for $80 and it even looks better than mine. I can see it now .... a garage scattered with spare parts
