    Welded and pinned crank

Anyone out there ever have any luck rebuilding a crank that has been both welded and pinned. I realize that a welded crank can be rebuilt but the "pinning" I fear, is the kiss of death. Your thoughts and opinions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Gary

Has it just been welded on the Mag or everywhere? The pinning should not be a real issue. It is the welding that is the pain in the A$$, if it has been welded everywhere. Check with these guys.

800AMSOIL4U, thank you for ther reply. To answer your question, it's been welded pretty much everywhere. However, it's the pinning and not so much the welding that I've been told, is the issue. I suppose that with enough effort, it could be taken apart. Whether it could be rebuilt after that, remains to be seen. I'll give Indy Specialty a call and see what they think.

This is the company that pinned my 550 mod stroker crank. It has been rebuilt twice. It was not welded though. I would check with them also. I hope they or someone can fix it for you.
