    holy cow..a Polaris site! I love it...i was told they didn't exist.....so, a few ?'s

    ok, and hello to my new found friends...so I went and bought 2 Polaris watercraft....the deal was good, I thought.
    2100 for an
    02 genesis I and an 03 Virage. I took them out and they ran good. The genesis seemed like it was misfiring until it warmed up. any ideas? I have no history knowledge on these..the guy was very vague. I plan to replace the plugs.
    The genesis has some gas in the hull, not sure if its leaking or what, put a paper towel right at the tank so this test will tell me in a day or so (cleaned it up prior)
    I have NO idea on these things, but am fairly mechanical.
    How does the dash display work? does it always stay on?
    The virage has a scar cut in its hull side, but does not leak..can I use bondo fiberglass repair to fix it? It looks to be the gel coat, but I can see fiberglass under it in a spot. Where can i get a manual? the genesis does not work reverse? Any ideas? i dont even know where fuses are..some many questions....

    oh, and what is the weak link on these toys? I was told the genesis eats flywheels and the virage burns up CDI boxes. Nobody around here seems to work on them either! they have 220 hrs on them, is this too much?

    Welcome to the hulk

    first off do a search on here and you will find what you need..

    do a compression check and report back with the findings. on each cylinder all plugs out hold throttle wide open.

    is the virage a 2 or 3 cylinder?

    if they are fuel injected they do not have cdis but big emms..

    Welcome

    Are these engines carburetor or fuel injection?

    fuel injected and carb'd

    the 1200 Genesis is a fuel injected..or "direct inject" motor..the virage is carb'd. Compression is good I will assume, but will check. Any ideas on the fuel leak? It is from the tank..and looks like the motor would need to come out to get the tank out...S.O.B.!!!!
    genesis=3 cylinder
    Virage= 2 cylinder.

    Yup... I think this is the only good source for Polaris info.

    I to, just picked up a Genesis that had a bunch of gremlins. One of the problems was an ignition miss. After looking around, I found that one of the wires was not pushed into the coil pack. You may want to check the ignition wires to make sure they have the correct value to ground.

    BUT... since it's injected... it could be related to that fuel leak. The DI system needs good pressure to fire the injector properly.

    I'm sure these guys will get you thought the probs.

    Oh... and BTW... yes, it was a good deal. If you decide you don't like them... I'm sure you can make twice your money back selling the parts to these guys.

    ok gents,here's the skinny..the genesis has a tank leak..any common areas to look? Can the tank come out without removal of the engine? (its a very tiny leak)..the PSI on the genesis is about 135-150..the virage is about 140-150..is this acceptable? and HOW THE HECK DOES THE DASH WORK???? what does unlocked/locked mean????
    anyone every repair hull damage to the gel coat? It does not leak but is cut...
    I am an anal type guy..and want my junk 100% perfect....where can I buy covers and a manual???? Please resond with your know-how..I much appreciate it....trying to get an education here...thanks again...
