    Riva ff exhaust drone?

Well.. I did the Riva intake upgrade which was a pain, Riva Power filter kit and Riva ff exhaust. All i got to say is WOW! Made a huge differance in top end speed which stock was 68 now 72 non gps and throttle response is improved greatly. Only problem from which i heard here is the exhaust drone at low rpms its true and my girlfriend hates it lol. I was curious if anybody has took out the rubber flaps from the back of the pump to see if the drone would disapate any? Seems like the exhaust is in a trapped box kinda of like a subwoofer.

I can't stand mine either, might sound crazy, but I'm thinking about going back to stock.
That drone goes straight to my ear drums, don't get me wrong I love a good sounding
exhaust note, but this is more like you said a drone or buzz.

2fast4u did a write up on modifying the stock exhaust which performs as good as the free flow without the drone. I had to purchase the pipe that I had cut for the free flow kit (about $50 shipped) and put my stock exhaust back in with his mods and according to my GPS, I lost nothing but the drone. The drone didn't bother me at full throttle, but after pulling my kids around for a couple hours on the tube, I would have a headache. Do a search for "Free flow exhaust w/o the noise ".

I'm in the same boat as you with the drone. I'm going to look into robk's suggestion but I actually had budgeted for the rear exhuast that came out for the SHO.

Todd, I have the Riva waterbox and the SHO FF exhaust. The drone is still there around 5K, but not as bad, just a hell of a lot Louder! The sound is pretty nasty now, but the drone still exists. The boat is loud as shit though. I'll try to get some sound clips of it cruising. It gets deafening after a while but still sounds good.

Thanks Poof. Based on this info I'm kind of on the fence. I think I am going to hold off on the waterbox for now and hopefully I will hear a couple in person at the Hydrodrags in November. Then I'll decide if I want one or not. You didn't happen to do aback to back test with your stock box did ya?
