fair price for a 99 xl 1200 that needs a new top end?

The oil line blew on my 99 xl 1200 and destroyed the PTO piston. It's going to need a new top end. I'm thinking about selling it outright instead of fixing it. I have way too many projects lining up. The hull is in great shape and all of the performance mods have been done.. eater clips, d-plate, ride plate, etc...

    What's a fair asking price?

I just missed out on a 2001 XLT with a trailer that needed a top end for $800. Not a huge market for the old 3 seaters.

Yeah.. I saw that one on the classifieds..it went quick. He certainly priced it aggressively. I currently have it on CL for $1500 and have had several calls. Figured I'll see what happens..

No..not yet.. I think I'm talking myself out of it...

I pulled the head this afternoon and there doesn't appear to be too much damage. Cyls 1 & 2 are looking good... #3 has just a bit of damage.
I'm going dig a little deeper and pull the jugs. If the crank appears ok, and only need new pistons, rings and the one jug refinished, then I'll install an oil block off and send the carbs to Bill to rebuild, rejet, and remove the accel pump.
