Thread: Help please

    Help please

My FZR now is only able to reach a speed of 45-50 mph. No jump in the throttle either. What should I start to look for as the cause?

Feels like there is not S/C boost.

hopefully someone messed around with your controller and set it to learners mode for you.. if not get ready to wrench sounds like your clutch is gone..

im no expert but coco is right sounds like it could be your clutch. what revs you got if only around 5000 then its your cluch.

That's about what it is. 43.5 hrs on it. I bought an extended warranty. Should I expect Yamaha to cover this?

As I was inspecting the ski for what could be wrong, I noticed that 4 of 6 veins in my pump housing are slightly, for the lack of a better way to describe it, ate away slightly all at the same sort of angle, closest to the impeller.
Could the cavitation that I have at a the low end be the cause of this? And is it something I can live with or what do I need to do to repair, in other words what are my options at this point?

i would susgest getting them ali welded and re ground. thats yor cheapest option. as for the clutch they may not warranty it if its not stock . depends how well you get on with your dealer. your pump could be salt errosion..

My pump did the same thing. I went with a seadoo conversion thats bigger and has more veins. It does sound like your clutch is gone. Check all connections to make sure that nothing is loose. Do you have any way to check boost?

No way to check it. I ended up taking it in to my mechanic.

I did find out that my pump is supposed to be like that so at least that's one thing that's a positive.

Regarding your pump....if you are describing what I think you are, it is not supposed to be like that. You are right around the speed that I noticed my pump being eaten away. Take some pics for us to verify.
