What is this part???????????? (96 wave venture 1100)

Newbie question here! On the 96 wave venture 1100, what is the small threaded cap for under the seat, between the engine and battery compartments? It looks like a miniature gas cap, and it connects to a hose the runs down into the bottom of the engine compartment, where I cant see. I can't find any diagrams of this in the manual. Thanks.

No, they are an aftermarket thing. Just see if you can pull the hose up and see if it has a standard hose fitting on it. It will (and must) be "capped" when not flushing with the hose. Remember to always start the motor before turning the water on to flush it and stop the water and hit the throttle a few times to get the water out of the system after flushing.

Ahhh, I bet Pan is correct. You are talking about the fuse cover on the CDI. Those are power cables coming off of the box going down in the hull. Inside the hole, where you removed the cover, is a fuse on a red wire.

Take a pic of what you are referring to to clear up the confusion! Lee

I'm pretty sure it's a fitting for a flush kit, now that I look at it. And if it's aftermarket, that explains why I can't find it anywhere in the shop manual. Here are a couple of pictures:

I think this is my first post here but i read these ski forms all the time and wanted to help you out, OSIDEBILL is correct again SIR, I have 2 of these same Ski's as yours that Bill has worked on, there is a connection that screws onto your water hose that plugs into this location for flushing or starting your ski on the trailer, Just make sure your ski is running prior to turning the water on and turned off right before you turn the ski off. I'm no expert on these ski's but im learning just like you.

Thanks for all the expert help. I must apologize for not posting the pictures sooner---I had no idea it was so easy to post pictures on greenhulk.
