    1996 SL700 Muffler Removal

Got a question. I just replace all four motor mounts as the rubber broke loose from the brackets Guess they are just old. In doing so, I had to remove the exhaust pipe and muffler. I was wondering if anyone know if I could just connect the exhaust header to the hose leading out the ski - and leave the muffler off.

Wonder if it run faster? Or does it need the back pressure? Or would it be so damn loud it be awful.

Loud, with no real power gain.

The waterbox is an important part of the exhaust system. Keep it installed.
