    Check out this intercooler

I love to modify stuff but I have a cheap streak, too.
Rather tha pay big bucks for some of the aftermarket intercoolers out there, I figured we'd just make one.
I got the core and tanks from Vortech but we were on our own after that.
Look at the size of the core compared to stock. It's almost 4 times the volume.

We got some generic tanks that were sort of close and modified them to fit. The inlet and outlet were in the wrong places so we cut them off and welded in some block off plates.
We had some thick aluminum tubing left over from a project on my boat. We turned it in the lathe so that it had a bead to hold the hose on and welded it to the tank at an angle we can use.

The blowoff valve will mount to a bung weled right on the intercooler tank.
The whole thing will mount to the bracket that originally held the stock airbox. There's a lot more room over there.

Pretty cool. Lotta work though. I think the Riva IC utilizes a Vortech core too. What size inlet and outlet are you going with? Also what sizes and how many water feed/exits you planning on?

    Nice Job Andy

Here is the one I just finished

I also have a larger core to try.

This is not the core Riva uses.

Looks like the same core. Kinda cool that we're both doing something so similar at just about the same time. (You being the professional and me not having a clue what makes these things tick yet)
I think I like building the stuff (Corvettes, Waverunners, Harleys, whatever) more than actually using, driving or riding them.
I only have 2.2 hours on my boat and about 20 hours working on it so far.
I got Chris' graphics kit and spent most of the day putting that on. Now I have to buy a black trailer to match.
I'm going to call you in the AM. I got my impeller from Vortech today and I have a tuning question for you.
    Thanks, Andy
