    Reassembling Cylinders

Putting the ski back together. I was told a good thing to use when putting on the base gaskets is Locktite 151. I have actual gasket sealer which I usually apply with an old toothbrush to avoid goopage flowing into the water channels. What's the general school of thought here?

Intake or exhaust gaskets yes, base gasket Noooo! I only use the copper spray on the exhaust myself. Sometimes that gasket glue stick on the intake.

Awesome info. Alright, I'm heading out to tackle this thing. Not mechanically inclined, but she'll get done. The stay ring on the piston pin is the only thing I'm dreading. lol

You COULD use gasket sealer, but it would make for a beotch of a time removing it later.

If you're using factory gaskets, they have a silicone sealer impregnated on the gasket itself. Otherwise, no sealer IS needed.

Steve, make sure to install the exh manifold (even temporarily) before you torque down the cyl base nuts. If not, you may damage the base gaskets.

And make sure to do a leak down test before you re-install the engine.
