"Do's" and "Dont's" for the GPR?

Im just trying to gather some information on what you should, and should not do on a GPR while riding. Stuff like doing spins, sharp turns, avoiding the lean RPM range (or how long you can stay in it). Just stuff that new owners like I should know about the machine while riding it. Maybe it would be nice to have something like this as a sticky? I see that Kevin is working on a "how-to" for the GPRs which is awesome but I don't know if that will include do's and dont's.

spins and sharp turns are what these things are fun at doing!

I know the first Do is to read up all you can and take care of all the preventative mods before anything!

In my opionion , remove oil pump and pre-mix! no margin for error that way....Other than that set a budget and ride it till the smc wears away.

Well, this isn't really about riding, but here's a couple.

Don't forget to put the drain plugs in before you drop it in the water.

Don't run water through it with the hose when it's not running.

Dont think for a minute the lean range stories are not real. Stay out of the 5 to 6K range for long periods of time...Like an idiot I did that one year where I was crusing for 5+ miles @ 6K and stuck it. The first sieze was tiny and as soon as I felt it I knew what it was. By the time I could get out of the throttle I stuck it going 50mph. Needless to say it broke into pieces.

Right, with an EFI ski the AFR is set and can't be changed thru the RPM range, even in the ECU,thats what R&D explained to me about the REFLASH.
