Need opinions on the following sea-doo's

I found the following sea-doo's for sale:

    1)2001 GTX-DI with just under 85hrs
    2)2001 RX-DI with just under 85hrs also.

Both ski's look like they are in excellent condition, comes with dual trailer and gas jugs. The seller is asking $6500!! My question is this....how often do they need to be rebuilt, and how are they on gas?? I realize it's hard to estimate the gas consumption because it depends on how hard you are on the throttle, wondering if you could get a full day's use of both touring around/ ripping around??

All opinions/ suggestions are much appreciated.

DI skis get the best fuel economy of any ski. you'll be able to go all day on a tank of gas. As far as opinions go i don't have one on the GTX because i've never ridden one, but i love RX's lots of fun.

stay away from a DI, they are hard to trouble shoot by small shops, since you need to hook it up to the BUDS computer. get a carbureted ski.
or just go with a 4tec 155 non supercharged.

DI parts are real expensive, more expensive than a carb ski.

+++++1000 I have a small shop and hate these skis, I have been working on seadoos for a while and these absoluty suck when it comes to figuring out problems. there is a lot of timing on these and making sure everything is 100% perfect, so there can be big money and time when it comes to the RFI and DI skis.

I think this thread jinks me, (brought me bad luck lol) just got a customer that bought a GTX DI and he bought it with missing cilinders, I will be replacing the engine with an SBT, but I told him that there would be no guarantees about how the engine runs, all I'm doing is removing the old engine and striping it and installing a new one in.. This will be my first DI any advice suggestions? should it take it or not?
I'm in the borderline, I told him I would have to call him back.

I had a '01 RX-DI and loved it but I sold it because I was worried about future repair costs.

It's a great ski when it's running right but there are a ton of horror stories about simple problems totalling the ski because of repair costs.

Would a CAN-DOO Pro help to diagnose a DI??
