    urgent question which silicone for nozzle to pump?

    im putting my riva adjustable nozzle on what silicone should i use on where the nozzle butts up to the pump?i have 3m marine grade silicone sealant and life caulk made by boat life they anygood?

    Any silicone will work fine, but I prefer using thinner stuff like 1211 because it's easy to clean off when changing props. If you have the whole pump out & need to reseal both sides just make sure not to get too much around the cooling water passage because you don't want any excess to squeeze out inside there. You don't want any little balls of silicone getting sucked into the cooling system & possibly causing a clog somewhere.

    i just picked up west marine multi caulk sealant says its waterproof and for use underwater any good?

    I think I sealed my nozzle to the pump, but I quit sealing the pump to the wear ring since I have my pump out so often.

    +1, I stopped bothering to seal them up, due to changing props so frequently. I just torque the 4 bolts down to 30ft lbs as in the service manual and haven't had any issues.
