It only looks like it's connected to the coupler. It's actually connected to your pitot fitting under the driveline. It goes from there to your MFD.... it's the speedometer tube.

Yes that is the hose for the speedometer as CrazyA has stated. If you ever notice that you are taking on a little water, check your bilge plug first and that hose next. I found that mine became brittle and had a crack in it right below the drive-shaft. It is very easy to change and the hose is not hard to find. You can buy it by the foot so you have some on hand.

Be careful with the tiny plastic nipple on the pitot fitting. It can break easily.

Use a small mirror to see what you are doing under there.

Replace the clear hose if there is any question about cracks or leaking. Be sure to put a small zip tie on the hose nipple. Pressure can exceed 50PSI in the hose.

Tip: Blow air or water into the small speedometer hose from the MFD end of the hose to clear clogs out of the pitot fitting. There is a small hole in the fin under the hull, and it must be clear.

    Thanks for the help guys...

well the Guard that goes over the Drive shaft coupler is missing now. i had one on there it was too tight so i tested it out and it wrapped that hose around it.

i got it untangled and took off the shroud it seems to be fine at this point.

i guess i need that shroud now

Good looking puppy! Have you found out if he likes the water yet? Both of my dogs love the lake.
