Slow Radar numbers, but great power? 7700 rpms.....mild prop?

    Ok,

I got some testing done today. I did not get a chance to radar my boat stock, so I dont have good comparison. It did turn 7500 consistently.

With the Riva exhaust, ribbon removed, R&D intake grate, and Riva intake filter, it ran consistent 68 ish in 90 degree heat. The rpms are up to 7700 on the stock analog tach. It burns the prop and hits the limiter on holeshots now, and acceleration has increased a bunch! I wonder if its on the limiter up top and losing a couple mph?

Could I have a "mild" prop?

Seems like at 7700 it would run faster...............rpms and acceleration are there-speed isnt.

I tried at N and one click up from N with identical results. I made several passes.

I have been doing radar stuff for years, and can usually get 1-2 mph over other riders. I squeaked 3 out of my cousins RXP stage 1 , so I know the results are valid.

They just suck (the results)............LOL Was thinking it would do 70-71...............

Those are good numbers. You just need a rideplate for another 2.5+ mph....which will put you at 70 - 71 mph.

Did you remove the stock rideplate spacer?

No.......only the mods listed (ex, no ribbon, and air intake)

I thought Jerry went 70.4 like that?

Jerry's 70.4 was with riva air filter, freeflow exhaust, manifold ribbon removed and stock spacers removed from rideplate and .60 washers installed under front bolts for plate angle(1.5mph gain) I had similar results with mine, but I had .93 washers. Thats assuming you have a FZ ski. I don't know if the washers under the plate work on the sho models.

You need to put your ski and current mods in your signature. That way people can help you easier when you have questions. Do you have an FX SHO or a FZR/FZS? If you have an FZ series ski, take out the rear spacer between the rideplate and the hull and then go do a few more test runs.

If you have a SHO, send your stock rideplate off to Jim's Performance to get his mod done to it. You can purchase it right in the online store.
