This must be a Yamaha Failure.....had Just the same Problem some months ago....But after 20hrs

This is also what happens when you run a motec are reflash on stock Rods and pistons :S

When you change the Stock ECU you must change the RODS with it.......

Here in Belgium 3Times stock engine(FZR's) With Motec.....3times Broken ROD on the first Cilinder

I am not questioning the hours or anything.
Just odd we went for a wihle since launch in 2008 without really seeing this and now it is becoming a common topic.

I don't mean to sound rude, but tell that to the hundreds of guys here in the states running aftermarket and reflashed ECUs on stock internals for hundres of hours with NO ISSUES. After three failures with a Motec, I would seriously look into the tune you were using. If not the tune, then look for signs of waves in the cylinders. I've heard of skis with ony break in hours on them, pulled apart, and found waves in a cylinder or two, and in different spots in the cylinders as well. They could only have come from the factory that way.

That is pushing the stock motor pretty far. Just be prepared to rebuild. I would say that kind of boost will at least cut the life of the motor in half.
