    Carb Cleaner

    Hey everyone I'm new to this site, and was wondernig if there is any type of cleaner that you can add to the gas in order to clean the carbs?

    The only effective carb cleaner is elbow grease

    If there is any question about the internal cleanliness of the carbs, take them apart and clean them properly.

    Be sure to go through the rest of the fuel system too.

    are the carbs on a 95 slx hard to disassemble and clean? Would you recommend a newbie do it ?

    Yes you can do it. Read up on how it is done.

    Study, buy the rebuild kits, take your time. Do one at a time, and soon enough you will have three clean and rebuilt carbs sitting on the table, ready to be re-installed.

    The links below, and in the FAQ and Tech sections, will point you in the right direction.

    Other Polaris owners are asking about, and doing, carb rebuilds in other threads. Spend some time looking through the forum, and the info is there.
