What ya think of these pistons, :)

Check out these pistons, you can say she ran the shit out of this motor, hahaha.
I saw oil still in the carbs, I saw oil in the reed casing as well. The only thing I can think of is she had been running this thing almost empty everytime she's been out riding. Probably never switched it over to reserve. But the top of the pistons weren't wet, they are dry. It did minimal damage to the cylinder which is a good thing, at least from what I could see. The other two cylinders are fine. But the pistons look like they were heating up too. Any ideas?

Jim, all 3 of them? I thought the one was fine, but the other two, eh. It seized on her and she started it back up and rode for a while. Then it seized again and she started it up and ran it for a few seconds. Then when I showed up she was trying to start it again. I did notice on the piston that the pin for the ring is missing. I'll recheck the carbs, but we had just cleaned them about 5 rides ago.

ALL 3 are dangerously LEAN...Detonation (from running lean), can rattle the ring locator pin loose. Once that pin comes out, it gets ugly quick. I bet you'll pick up RPM by fattening it up a bit.

I understand that part. But this ski is bone stock with a d plate. 2000 gpr. The carbs are clean. Don't understand how it would be lean with the stock jetting on stock carbs on stock motor. Thats whats baffelling me. I checked the carbs out again last night. Any other ideas cause I can't think of none. She did buy BR8ES plugs but we gapped them to .042, its been a while since I messed with a carbed motor, so trying to remember stuff, hahaha.
    Thanks guys.

Ahh...gotcha. Didn't realize it was a stock boat. Well if carbs are jetted how they should be, I'd start looking at something starving it for fuel...Fuel flapper door, fuel filter, lines, fuel pumps, etc.
