    Help with cdi please

I bought two 2000 KAWASAKI 900 STX skis on a twin trailer for $2300. I thought it was a pretty good deal so i went for it. One runs awesome.

    Here is the problem:

SOMEBODY drilled a hole in the CDI of one and soldered a wire in the ignitor to somewhere else. I don't know what this is all about, but there is no spark. Everything else looks good and they both only have 70 hours on them.

I found a full and complete CDI box on ebay for cheap and it supposedly works perfect but it is for a 900 ZXI. Anybody know if this will work? Or what the heck the soldered wire is for?

I took it to powersports tech and he said it needs a new stator, voltage regulator, and ignitor.. which comes to about $850... $1250 installed. Im not going to pay that. I would rather part it out and find something else if I have to. If the CDI from the 900 ZXI will work then that would be just awesome.

Thank you in advance for any help and comments

Go to one of the online parts suppliers and do a parts lookup for both boats and see if they have the same part number.
