    Unhappy 04 Rxp with X-Charger.....Just added Fizzle intercooler and now have RPM Loss HELP?!?

    I have an 04 RXP with

    1) R & D Intake Grate
    2) Riva Long Air Intake
    3) Fizzle Intercooler
    4) Removed Resonator and replaced with Straight Pipe
    5) RXP-X New supercharger
    6) 42lb Injectors
    7) Green water restrictor
    Solas 15/20 Prop REPITCHED TO OBTAIN 8050-8100 RPM'S
    9) OPAS Block off Kit
    10) Oil Catch Can

    My charger only has 25-30 Hours and was purchased brand new. The intercooler was just installed and I took it for the first real test run yesterday and after riding consisitantly perfect at 8100 Rpms for an (1)1/2hours I feel a loss in power.... Just doesnt feel like the same boat... its only hitting 7500-7600 Rpms now... and is not accelerating like it was. Also supercharger is not CHIRPING Loudly (When I let off throttle) like it was yesterday when I orginally started??

    This doesnt feel like a boost leak because I dont think it would make it as high as 7500 rpm's. I need some advice on what are the most pratical places to start??? And it doesnt feel like a prop issue.

    Intercooler or Supercharger gone bad issue???? Im dumbfounded?

    Did you check the slip before you installed it?

    I've learned here that some of the new xchargers come with the slip not set correctly. Also, if you've been riding it for a few hours, the slip needs to be checked anyway.

    Start there and report back...

    No I didnt know to check the slip before I installed it a few months back.....Like I said I have only put 25-30 hours on it and it has been fine. Now it seems after I installed this intercooler I now have this problem....(And maybe the two arent related, it was just coincidience) But it does feel like I have lost a few pounds of boost and its not chirping like it was when it was running perfect yesterday.

    It can be the following:

    1.SC Slip as mentioned.
    2.Boost leak, with a small boost leak you will still get up to 75-7600 RPMS.
    3.Intercooler is bad and leaking.
    4.Bad plugs.
    5.Bad coil.

    Start with that and see what you find.

    I would check the slip. It might not be your problem, but should be checked to avoid washer wear.

    Also, check for a boost leak on your new intercooler hoses and couplings.

    Would you advise checking in this order or liklyhood?

    I would do all of the following before taking it out next:

    -check slip
    -tighten all clamps on intercooler/SCer hoses
    -change spark plus

    if that doesn't help, we'll go from there

    The charger on my X boat was slipping @ 7.5 ft lbs @ 35 hours, I was down about 6-700 rpms and had a terrible holeshot. I would definelty check the slip.
