    Transducer mount location on STX15F

To anyone that has a depth finder on their STX15F; where did you find a location to mount the transducer? I found a mini depth finder and I want to mount it so I don't have to wonder how deep the water is when coming to shore or riding up river at my local ride spots.

if you find somewhere let me know I am planning on the same, I was thinking on the side behind the secondary waterbox but I am not sure if that would work.

I found a what they refer to as a shoot thru hull transducer. I mounted it between the engine and the fuel tank on my 15F. Got it from Overtons , thats where they recomended installing it with double sided tape or velcro. works great!!

just noticed min. depth is 700mm, this may be an issue for a ski, as it wouldnt display any shallower

The one I have I got at Overtons.com. You don't have to cut the dash to mount the guage. I mounted the transducer with double sided tape and the guage with velcro. This one reads from 1 foot and to a depth of 999 feet the guage itself is about 1 1/2 square and is back lit.. why i guess if you used it on a bass boat or something like that. Hook the power direct to the battery with clips provided. Just simple and easy. the price on it was around 125 bucks U.S.

nicjak; unfortunately, I got the one with the bad reviews. I didn't get mine from Overtons but off Amazon so I didn't read the reviews beforehand. At least on Amazon it was only $75 delivered.

stx-15fer; Thanks for the tip on where you mounted yours.

smokeysevin; remember, it must be a single layer of hull to work. Also, I think there is a curve where you are describing isn't there? It needs to shoot straight down to be accurate.

Are the Ultra 250X/260X hulls single layer? I like the idea of adding a depth gauge, just not a fan of putting holes in the hull below the water line.

Dennisd .. your welcome bud, I didn't read the reviews at the time but i just did. To date it has worked for me very well.... only time will tell lol.

Edify.. as far as i know most ski's are a single layer hull.
