Need help - I have low 12v on display on my 1998 Seadoo GTX Limited.

    Hey Guys,

I need some help here, I have a 1998 Seadoo GTX Limited that gives me an low 12v on display. It has a brand new battery in it too, it does run. I just bought it and I have not had it out yet, but would like to solve the problem before I do. Any help on this would be great, thanks again.

the battery is probably a pos. these skis if you crank them too much the battery will be kinda low and the ski will start throwing the alarm. its just a warning alarm, pretty much telling you the battery will soon go lowwww

The battery is brand new and fully charged, it does not crank more than 6 revolutions of the crank and it starts. At seadoosource.com it looks like there is an aftermarket kit that can be installed for $157. Does anyone know about this or ever used it? The way it sounds the rectifier is in the MPEM, and this eliminates that one and makes it external.

    Thanks again....

I just want to know if I take it for a spin will I cause any problems untill it can be corrected.

Check the voltage of the battery without it running, start engine & you should see a increase over the not running voltage.

If not you have a charging system problem.
